Me on guitar and harmonica. My friend Marcus did the rest. It totally reminds me of some Beck stuff.

how to be happy tips
1. Finding meaning and a purpose in life is what brings happiness.2. Happy people plan and organise, they have goals and a purpose.
3. To be happy, we need to enjoy what we have and the job we do.
4. Live in the moment: Don’t dwell on the past and previous failures.
5. There is no point in worrying about the future.
6. You need to actively choose to be happy and think positive.
7. Surround yourself with positive people and be socially active.
8. Don’t compare yourself to others – lead your life as if you are writing a book about it. -
pump.io, identi.ca and twister
Pump.io is the successor of identi.ca. It’s an open source alternative to twitter.
About 4k visitors a week. Not bad for a relatively new website, hey?
Except that identi.ca had at least 40k weekly visitors, possibly even more. And even now it still seems to get ~9k visitors every week.
And that’s quite a lot considering that no one can really post anything new on identi.ca. I really wonder why this “upgrade” has not been handled in a smoother way that would have retained existing users. Backwards API compatibility would have meant composer and a couple of other social networking tools would have supported pump.io.

freepictures.cc just got better
Earlier today I added a G+ button and just now I added descriptions and icons to images on freepictures.cc, the tool I made with which you can quickly find freely usable pictures on Flickr and Wikimedia Commons. I hope you like it. Make sure to +1 if you do.
And if you don’t like it (enough), let me know why and I might just fix it.

If you want something from me and you're not extremely cute, please don't just say "hi". Say "hi" + what you want. Already twice today.

Back to WordPress
Drupal is a great piece of software but it’s high maintenance,
especially to get it to a user friendly state. That includes user friendly for geeks like me. The mere fact that it’s so easy to add images (it’s total fun to add random images to posts), switch between WYSIWYG and text, add categories, tags, all the basic stuff you want in a blog. It’s all very possible to set up in Drupal but it’s a pain to do it for every single website.
Then there was the issue of which domain name. I went through the list of names I have, only one candidate, realsocial.org, but the “Real Social” keyword space is already quite crowded and mostly taken by Pick Up Artist websites. Next was checking kasper.*. I already have some .re domains such as everwh.re and I like quite a few of the possible meanings of RE.
So I’m pretty confident I’ll be regularly expressing myself more online now that I have an English language blog based on WordPress. It makes so much more sense than spending time on Facebook…
